But yes, on both counts. AP were very slow to respond to Eagle's style, particularly on the "mixed bag" titles. Particularly slow was anything under the auspices of Stan Gooch - Tip Top, Jingles, Radio Fun, TV Fun, Wonder etc. Same time for most of their lives those titles were shifting 250k a week, so the man knew his audience! =)
And annuals in general and Gooch ones especially made judicious use of reprints and/or old characters. The weekly Tip Top also never letva cancelled strip die in peace
