Alter Ego may not have been the first comic book fanzine but it heralded in comic book fandom. Kudos to Jerry Bails, Roy Thomas, Biljo White, Ronn Foss, and the rest of its creators!

Its definitely the best known and probably longest running of Fanzines. But not the beginning of Fandom. Maybe the beginning of Fandom going Mainstream. Note the list of Fan publications on page 28 and he comment, 'Lacking space ............. A.E. wishes to list merely a handful of Zines, all of which are considered tops........... !
I'm like to see some of these.
