Interesting to see those little introductions from the writers and authors. I wonder why, according to the info, Hughes chose to assign each story to a different "writer".

I think Hughes invented the writers to keep it from looking like ACG was a one-man operation. Fans claimed to be able to tell the difference between stories by the different "writers." Maybe so, but in hindsight it's easy to tell they all came from the same pen.
