Synopsis
While on a train, a conman switches a briefcase full of cash for one filled with cut paper, then jumps from the train with the cash. Rickey West sees him jump and the conman pretends to have a broken leg to get him to leave to get help.
Champion lives on Smoky Ashton's Flying A ranch and is ridden by the boy Rickey West. There are no references to Gene Autry in the issue, other than the cover photo.

Synopsis
Rickey takes Champion and Rebel to hunt for the colt Starlight in the snow in the mountains. Champion saves the colt from an attack by a wolf.

Synopsis
Hicks, a rough ranchhand tries to ride Champion and his cruel tactics get him fired. Hicks hires two men to get his revenge by setting fire to the barn on the Flying A, but their plot is broken up by Rebel and Smoky Ashton. Later the three kidnap Ricky West and hold him for ransom.
