This issue printed a letter to the editor from Lin Carter, who also wrote letters of comment to the science fiction pulp magazines. He would become a fantasy editor and author, editing Ballantine's line of adult fantasy paperbacks and writing novels, many of them in the style of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard; together with L. Sprague De Camp he published a number of Conan pastiches as well as finishing up stories from drafts or notes by Howard. One of his novels, about Thongor the Barbarian, was adapted to comics by Marvel in the 1970s. |
