classic cover, girl in peril, trapped in a test tube by the evil scientist type villain |
|
Actually we don't don't know if anyone is actually in peril. It all depends on whether one reads the scene [right→left] or [left→right].
[Right→left] shows a perilous scene of lovely captives being killed and reduced to bones
[Left→right] shows a scientist being interrupted as he oversees a high-tech assembly line creating lovely androids in model bikinis. |

I wasn’t going to read this but I like David’s comment (David – if I said Kingdom of Honey would it mean anything to you?) and then I glanced at the artwork inside and was simply blown away – look at those angles in Lost World and the detail! Dynamic development through each panel with the eye-catching blonde pulling your eyes along with her as she gallops through the story – a master at work.
My favourite though was Enrico Bagnoli’s Futura – luxuriant is the word that springs to mind. Born in the Bonelli tradition, Lambiek tells me Enrico went on to work on an international scale – it’s easy to see why he was fought over.
Strong female characters in every story – that has to be good. |
