I really have to admire Avon's approach to publishing comics. They did so many one-shots, treating each comic book almost like they were issuing a paperback novel (which of course, as a publisher, they'd already had plenty of experience with). And then even when they did a series like this one, it was more like a paperback novel series, where each book had its own individual title, with the words "Captain Steve Savage" in smaller letters, and the title of the specific story in each issue in a larger typeface. 1 - Captain Steve Savage Over KOREA! 2 - Captain Steve Savage and his JET FIGHTERS 3 - Captain Steve Savage and his SECRET SUPER-JET 4 - Captain Steve Savage Fights the RED RAIDERS from SIANG-PO! 5 - Captain Steve Savage and the ROCKETS of DEATH! 6 - Captain Steve Savage OPERATION DESTRUCTION 7 - Captain Steve Savage's FLIGHT to KILL! 8 - Captain Steve Savage Battles the RED MYSTERY JET! It's not until the 9th issue that the comic gets a standardized-typeface logo, "Captain STEVE SAVAGE", and then the title is re-numbered to #5 again! So there are really TWO #5 through 7. And ALL the cover art here is great. Just look at the horrific look on that Korean pilot's face on the cover above! I'm much more of a fan of DC's war comics of the 1960s (that and SGT. FURY AND HIS HOWLING COMMANDOS), but I have to admit this is the best-looking Korean War title I've seen.
