Nice art by Harry Anderson. Comparing them with the opening chapters I think the last couple of chapters were inked by someone else...or else Anderson was rushing the job.

I am curious whether anyone here would know if this is an actual adaptation (perhaps condensed) of the Republic serial JUNGLE GIRL, or of the serial THE PERILS OF NYOKA. Or is it just an original story based on the same character from the serials? I looked at the chapter titles of both those serials, and they don't seem to match the chapter titles in this comic, but I don't know whether that's just because they were condensing 2 or 3 chapters of the serial into one chapter of the comic book story.

Additional Information

Publication[November] 1942 | Price: 0.10 USD | Pages: 1
NotesOriginally credited to Clem Weisbecker, but the faces, and hands with short inklines that don't go all the way down between the fingers are sure signs of Anderson. He also drew the mouth with two lines that don't meet at the middle. Anderson is credited on Nyoka by Jerry Bails' Who's Who, while Weisbecker is not. The signed Anderson story "Mr. Scarlet and Pinky" in Wow Comics #34 has the same faces and hands as here. Weisbecker has much heavier inking and more black, and other faces. Compare with Weisbecker's signed story in Black Hood #9.
