Once you get past the mimeographing and less-than-award-winning artwork in here, you'll find this to be one excellent read! Roy Thomas made me feel like we really missed out on something when Ralph Dibny got killed off - the Three Dimwits babysitting his and Sue's Elastic Baby! DC missed the boat on THAT one! In the Alley Awards section, DC dominated in all categories, with Marvel only getting one serious nomination - for the Hulk as worst comic! As if that weren't shocking enough, Superman and Action Comics were also nominated - Magic Agent, however? He DID stink, in 1961 or any other year. There were a couple of nice articles dealing with the history of MLJ and two villians from the Golden Age, the Claw and Ironjaw. There was also a review of the first Batman movie serial, along with some reminiscing from Paul Reinman. To top this great issue off, there's a nice Jack Kirby drawing of the Thing, circa 1962. I LOVED THIS BOOK! If it were just a LITTLE more professional, I'd have given it an "11"!
