He sends his reporter, Mr. Goddard, to discover what can be done about raising the necessary funding. When an appeal the the United States government fails, Pulitzer takes it upon himself to place a call for funding in his newspapers. The campaign is more than successful, largely in part to donations from school children. Triumphantly, Pulitzer invites the congressmen from Washington for the celebration. |
