He decides to fight anyway, and doesn’t tell Teddy about his heart because she says “I don’t like has-beens.” Just before the bout, Larry’s manager tells Teddy the truth. Teddy tells Larry that she loves him for himself and doesn’t want him to fight any more.

George discovers what Linda did and breaks up with her. Linda devotes herself to helping Marilyn recover, and finally confesses to her. Marilyn doesn’t hold a grudge, and even helps reunite the repentant Linda and George.
