More Munson k on the Tex Maxon strip--not as stunning as some of his other work, but still swirlingly powerful. A knife-fight with a bear on fire--now that's comics! |
Good old Fox and his house names. While Munson Paddock started life as the name of a real artist, it soon was plastered over stories by others - such as this 'burning bear' tale by August Froehlich. |
What I was trying to say, Peter, is that although this story is credited to Munson Paddock, it's actually drawn by August Froehlich. Probably one reason you discerned a difference. |
I stand corrected--and a little relieved. But I LOVE Froehlich's work on a strip in Toyland Comics called Chris and the Calico Colt! |
