The artist who drew the Dick Turpin strip in this issue and the next was New Zealand born John McNamara (1918-2001). For the Amalgamated Press in London he worked mainly on their Thriller Comics/Picture Library series. Between 1953 and 1956 he drew seven titles and contributed to an eight. (A fuller account of his career can be found on https://book palace.com/acatalog/ArtistsBiographies.html#BIOGM.) I love Hugh NcNeill's work, but he produced an awful lot of Dick Turpin pages. McNamara began so well on this 15-part serial that it's a pity he couldn't complete it.

Curious that this 1953 publication would use photos of Robert Taylor from the 1941 film "Billy the Kid." It's not like Taylor was closely identified with the role.
