Fun Fun Fun read of a great magazine that could have been a real contendah !

Does anyone know why most of these magazines had extensive plot synopsis in them? Was it because they assumed the readers would be too young to see the films themselves? Great mag though.

To answer Mickram's post concerning the detailed plot synopsis-- NO INTERNET ( LOL). During the 50s -60s the only place to watch these movies was either at the theaters during matinees or as re-runs on TV. Let's not forget that going to the movies was considered a luxury back then. Also at the time there were "Spook Shows" held in many towns that would run several movies in double or triple+ features . "Spook Shows" were a really big event back then. Reading about the movies plot in detail via magazine made it easier to select were your limited movie night discretionary funds went as well as keeping the horror movie fan informed about movies they have either missed or were just curious about.

Marvellous - they knew how to make movies in those days - and monster mags too. I loved the doo-wop monster song: "I'll be your loving zombie If you'll be my darling ghoul" Should have made no.1

I'm a fan of old movie magazines, especially when they are fantastic films. Today I have a lot of these old films in my collection, sure, some of the films may not be that demanding ;-), but I like them. I found another magazine series here: 'Fantastic Monsters Of The Film' and there are also many issues of the 'Castle of Frankenstein' magazine on archive.org.
