Through their neglect of duty, an epidemic ravages the hospital. Vicky works hard to make up for her error. She discovers Bob has fallen in love with another nurse, Susan. Vicky joins an expedition to the tropics to study Rickettsial fever. James is also on the trip but he is cool to her. Vicky infects herself with fever so James can test his new serum. She survives and their love does as well.
