Was this a fanzine?
UFP could be United Fan Press.
Anyway it has stories by H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, etc.
Don't pass up on it! |

Donald Wollheim is a major figure in the publication of Science Fiction in the 20th century. He would have been in his early 20s when this magazine came out. |
|
In an entry in the online "Encyclopedia of Science Fiction" I learned that this was a sort of "semi-prozine." It was offered for sale but the print run was only two hundred copies. It was the only issue--Woolheim "ran out of money and parted company from Wilson Shepard."
It struck me as amusing that a 1977 facsimile reprint was "limited to 750 copies"...almost four times the circulation of the original magazine. |
