| Synopsis | At their African encampment, Pantha hears a drum message announcing a celebration among the Mogambi tribe. She and Dane journey to the village and learn that the son of the chief has just returned from being educated in the west. He proves to be a vicious and arrogant man, and, spotting children playing with diamonds, he forces some of the natives to collect them for him. His schemes are thwarted when he encounters a safari whose leader steals his diamonds. Pantha and Dane save him and he has a change of heart, announcing he will use the diamonds to improve the quality of life of his people. |

When Havens gets to see his friend, White tells him that the sanatorium is trying to kill him, just as three other patients mysteriously died. Although Havens doesn't believe him, he does the next day when he learns that White "committed suicide", so he contacts the Phantom Detective via the red beacon light. The mystery man dons a disguise and has himself entered as a patient in the sanatorium to investigate. |
