That first page of Luke Hennessy is fantastic. Pete Morisi sure could draw beautiful and sexy women. Everyone who considers themselves a fan of Steranko, especially his graphic novel "Red Tide," should check out Johnny Dynamite. Hardboiled detectives aren't always done well in comics, but Johnny Dynamite never seems to disappoint.

Now this was a real find. Terrific opening shot – “I’m afraid to die, Johnny” – hardboiled as a graphene flak jacket. How did Laurie end up in Death’s welcoming arms? Johnny knows – but do you?

Pete Morisi was talented, but he also knew how to cut corners. The switched eye patch was probably a pre-drawn Dynamite pose he flipped to save time.
