They fall in love but Linda thinks Hank’s engaged to someone else and runs away. Learning Hank is ill, she returns and discovers she was mistaken about his prior engagement. They are married. |

Her next target is military surgeon Major Arthur Drake, whose career she plans to ruin. When Jane, now an army nurse, is injured in a car wreck, Arthur saves her life and Peggy vows to change her ways. She marries Paul, who lost a leg in the war, and they have two children. |
