This is quite good, but it has a lot less finesse and originality than the Leonard Starr newspaper strip from which it derives. The villains are simplistic, Mary Perkins is too gushy (especially with her husband), Pete Fletcher lacks character, and the revelation of Maximus' secret to Pete is clumsily done and in any case unnecessary.
Story artists according to GCD are Frank Bolle (pencils) and Frank Giacoia (inks).
