Looks like a bored, by the numbers Gil Kane. So it's still worth looking at. Suspicious Waters and the following stories have some catchy panels.

Yeah, Russ Manning was kind of skating on this one. However he did draw a respectable Lloyd Bridges.

well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I can't agree with that assessment. The amount of creative composition on each page is great to watch. He may have skimped on the inking to meat a deadline, since the work has a spareness about it, still better than the work of many others. Sea Hunt was a show I have vivid memories of watching after school. I think Lloyd Bridges face is engrained on the back of my eyeballs. Never forgotten. But. I can't remember the plot of a single episode. Go figure!

The three SEA HUNT stories aren’t bad, kind of more like superficial vignettes from the great TV series, but as the other comments mention, the art seems very sketchy and unfinished. The angles and perspectives are good, but constantly let down by the lack of professional detail and polish. Some of the “close ups” fare better, but too much damage is done to the overall effect by the globs of nothingness. As such, the book isn’t very enjoyable. I loved the last SEA HUNT comic I read, but this one just tanked (ha!) for me. (Also, the filler story about the kids on the beach seemed more like something you would read in some free religious comic under a pile of worn out magazines in a dentist’s lobby back in the 60’s. Could they really not come up with even a lousy fourth SEA HUNT story? ).

I think "Airplane" has ruined Lloyd Bridges for me. Looking at his expression in the photo on the cover of this comic, all I can think of is "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking."

A few of the old boys were trippin' I see. Guys, nobody was 'skating' here, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the panels in this comic. It's all perfectly serviceable material, shirley above the average standard of American comics. You can't expect an artist, any artist really, to do quadruple axels when he gets handed scripts like this... I don't mean to sling mud at Sea Hunt, it's an enjoyable romp but let's face it, it's hardly a Novel prize material.
