Superheroes just weren't Fiction House's forte. "Super-American" is another generic long-underwear guy, and his costume is one of the ugliest of the Golden Age's many stars-and-stripes outfits. The artists and writers are obviously more comfortable with the "Shark Brodie" sort of adventure. |

I honestly think his outfit isn’t any better or worse than someone like Captain America’s honestly. I can see why the production would have moved onto something else after giving superheroes a shot though, as it’s 1942 is when FH began focusing more on good girl art. |

What I find interesting is the consistent "house" style of the artwork in this issue. Although drawn by a number of different artists, it all looks more or less the same. Yes, you can see some individuality if you look hard, but--unlike many other comics of this era--it's all pretty similar and of a decently high level. |
