Dave is given a raise and promoted and learns Kathy was behind it. He loves her but she refuses to consider marriage. Kathy's father and Dave conspire to test Kathy: Dave's transferred out of town but tells her that he quit over her meddling. Kathy realizes she actually did love Dave and her father reunites them. |

When her sister June graduates, Gloria's brother Butch threatens to quit school and work in a factory, but Steve proposes a compromise: if Gloria marries him now, Butch can work part-time and still go to school. Gloria realizes everyone wants to contribute and she agrees to the plan. |

Synopsis | Peter loses a large sum of money to gambler Charles; his sister Diane agrees to dine with Charles to pay off the debt and save her brother from ruin. Charles, smitten, offers to marry Diane: she rejects him. Peter, insulted, challenges Charles to a duel. Diane makes a wager with Charles: if he wins, she'll marry him; if he loses, he won't kill her brother. Charles loses. During the duel, Charles shoots first and deliberately misses--he is then mortally wounded by Peter's bullet. Diane learns Charles actually won his bet with her but lied, to prove he was an honorable man. |
