After graduation, Jane and her mother move to New York. A year and a half later, the now successful Harry comes to town and visits Jane. He seems cool to Jane but she discovers he didn't think she'd want to give up her career to marry him. Jane says "I'm not too keen on a career for myself" and will marry Harry instead.

The judge declares Mardee's death an accident, and the other students show up to admit their presence as well. Lorry and Tad are reinstated in school and will marry after they graduate.
