Police appeared baffled by the statements made by a recently released victim of a kidnapping and asked my help. There was one suspect, but he had an alibi for at least the daylight hours when the victim was missing. The victim, who'd been heavily drugged at the outset of the crime, said he only regained consciousness at night. He knew because he vaguely heard the light switch snap on and the shade being drawn.
