SynopsisA member of an exclusive country club had been found dead on a snow-covered path between the clubhouse and the village. Dawkins, the manager, had called me, telling me he had discovered the body. I'm calling from the club, he said, and I'll go back to guard the body. After the call, I drove to the club, and following the three sets of footprints, I encountered Dawkins and the dead man. Dawkins said he knew the dead man had planned to take the walk, and when he didn't return, he took the path and found him. "I'm afraid that's not good enough, Mr. Dawkins. You killed this man". I'll explain. In the case of the suspicious prints, had Dawkins' story been true, there would have been four sets of footprints. Three of Dawkins going to the body, back to the phone, and then back to guard the body. And one set of the dead man. Dawkins had carried the body to the spot. He was the killer!.
