SynopsisAn attempt to "get" Ruffy Rux gets Reno killed with several bullet holes. Two silver dollars point the finger at Ruffy. With unusual violence; Ellery slugs Ruffy and breaks his hand in the process. The guest armchair detective is McCullough St. John, editor of Radio Mirror magazine. Ellery heads to Los Angeles on the trail of Ruffy, but Ruffy isn't that easy to catch.
