You look at the cover and you think... "Oh, it's another 'frogman' comic book". Okay, scuba had just come into use, and it seemed adventurous and daring. BUT when you read the lead story here, "Frog Men Against Belzar" and THEN you realize that THESE frogmen are conducting military missions in the canals of the planet MARS -- you've got one truly weird comic book story!

Even more interesting. The story is a reprint. It first appeared 3 years earlier in Approved Comics #6 /?dlid=52413

Hmmm.... also reprinting several other strips contained in that same issue. I guess I should have realized that reprints were pretty much par for the course with Ajax-Farrell... although not so much as with Star Publications or IW/Super, where reprints were essentially ALL that they did. It also amazes me that this late in the game, publishers were still trying to launch the "mixed bag/variety pack" type anthology titles, in the face of the trend of consumers wanting a specialized genre title, or preferrably one entirely devoted to a single feature (if not to a single story).
