SynopsisKaren goes on vacation to Florida and meets artist Pete, who saves her from drowning but is otherwise hostile. Kay arrives, claiming to be his fiancée. Pete says she broke his heart but he now loves Karen. Kay wants Pete to stay with her advertising agency and threatens to blacklist him unless Karen leaves. Karen decides to go but Pete catches her and says Kay tore up his contract, so they can now be together.

Pat, the girlfriend of Jim’s son Paul, thinks Kit is a gold-digger like she is. When Kit tells Paul about Pat, he says he knew it all along; he then proposes to Kit himself. To avoid hurting Jim, Kit leaves but he tracks her down and says if she doesn’t love him then he wants her to marry Paul instead. She does.
