SynopsisAfter her mother's death, Denys went to live with Mrs. Rudeman and her businessman son Mark. Denys is expected to marry Mark soon. Working at a Red Cross canteen for servicemen, Denys meets and falls in love with soldier Tim. Tim learns of her engagement but she says Mark needs her and she owes his family; Tim urges her to tell the Rudemans the truth. Denys overhears Mark and his mother discussing ways for him to avoid the draft. This frees her of her obligation to them, and she is reunited with Tim.

Beset by doubts, Nelia asks Dave to marry her right away, and he agrees. Nelia discovers Mr. Crawford has just died and left her half his fortune, assuming she'd marry Alton Jr. Dave is suspicious, but Mr. Crawford's lawyer explains: his client knew his son was a wastrel, and hoped Nelia would straighten him out. But in any case, he wanted Nelia to inherit. Nelia and Dave will donate the money to charity.
