A very BIG thank you to the people who have uploaded the Schoolfriend comic books. They were a significant part of my childhood and teenage years though I began reading them decades after they were first published. Thanks for bringing back the old world charm. As I read these 'new' titles, I am reliving the wonder years. I am a teacher and would recommend them to my twentieth century students!!!

Can't quite make out the title of the magazine in the woman's hand. Anybody?

I'm pretty sure it is Jack and Jill, a children's comic.

Paw, going by the Yellow Border and the Red on the cover I would have thought 'Jack and Jill' also, but that lettering order doesn't seem right for that. Unless it is the back cover, which often had strips on it. A thought, Was 'Jack and Jill' a sister magazine to 'Schoolgirl's picture library'? It would make sense to sneakily advertise a sister magazine on the cover. Cheers.

I've now read all twenty of the ones posted in SPL. All magnificent - and thanks to those caring, sharing people who uploaded them. I can't believe this is the end - I think I read in an earlier comment of an Indian member who had all but two of the SPLs - I wonder if she would mind uploading? These are a cultural treasure that should be shared by all.
