Factory foreman Chuck constantly undermines her faith in Steve, and when Steve comes home on break and refuses to take a job in the factory, they break up. Dot later hears Steve is doing badly at school because he’s depressed. They reconcile: Dot agrees to wait to be married until Steve achieves his dream of graduating. |
