Very nice artwork by William Fay. Well-drawn if somewhat old-fashioned for 1946. Odd to see the entire cast drawn as Anglo-Saxons. The reproduction is strange...I think perhaps Fay colored his inked originals and the printer shot separations from them. That would account for the greyed-out appearance of the blacks. Just a theory.

Prince of Egypt. Historically accounted for, he was used by God to save the people of Israel from famine. He would later be buried in the Promised Land when his bones were carried by Moses and the Children as they left Egypt after 400 years of slavery!
No. 1058 in the "BIBLE VISUALIZED" Series. Many issues in this series have two different covers, which may or may not represent first and second printings (in the format of 1xxx and 2xxx). It is not yet known if this issue has a "No. 2058" cover.

Synopsis
Joseph is resented by his brothers and sold by them into slavery in Egypt but he impresses the pharaoh with his ability to interpret dreams and becomes a powerful figure. When Joseph's brothers come to Egypt Joseph at first toys with them vengefully, but ultimately reconciles with his brothers.
