The signature does not match Jack Alderman’s signature from the early 1940s. The work he signed during this time period was signed as Jack Alderman. See signature example under Jack Alderman. The signature, which is not cut off, for this illustration appears to be C. A. Murphy. See signature example under C. A. Murphy. As well the art work looks very much like Murphy’s work from various pulp examples and is really unlike Jack Alderman’s comic art work. |
