Synopsis | Bess has a crush on popular Ben; they date several times but Ben plays the field with other girls as well. Bess refuses her mother’s urging to date other boys, saying she has to remain available for Ben, and other boys would be “second-best” after him. Her parents set her up with Chet, the son of a friend. She remembers him as gawky and unattractive, but when he shows up for their date he’s handsome and charming and Bess realises her parents knew best. |
