Comic Story | Broadway Lights (6 pages) |
Synopsis | Jennie Traynor loved to dance and dreamed of stardom. When talent agent Bill Ryan came to her small Virginia town her boyfriend, Pete, encouraged Jennie to audition. Winning the contest Ryan took Jennie to New York but the only job he could get her was as a chorus line dancer in a sleazy club owned by Roy Tindal, who she becomes romantically involved with. He gets her a role in a Broadway play. But success has a big price and Jennie realizes her ill-made choices may cause her to lose everything she previously had. |
Content | Genre: Romance | Characters: Jennie Traynor; Bill Ryan; Roy Tindal; Pete |
Notes | Original title was "I Went Too Far". Because of the risque nature of the original story, every page of this was heavily edited to receive approval by the Comics Code for reprint. Due to the heavy changes (including inking out of entire panels leaving them black), some have called this the most poorly reworked story in the history of comics. |
