Betsy is shocked but Toby later says his wife died several years before; he’s a novelist and couldn’t write, but Betsy’s love has cured his writer’s block. Betsy and Toby will wed. |

Rodney tells her “your talents are all in your face—not in your hands!!” and says she should forget her “ridiculous attempts at painting!” Doris leaves, vowing to study and become a great artist and “someday…ask for Johnny’s forgiveness…” |
