Their dating became more serious and Bruce wanted to set a date, but he had trouble getting his plastics business started because the banks wanted more security than he had to offer. Phyllis offered to lend him more money as an investment in their future. When she gets a letter telling her that Bruce had used his charm to get money away from the anonymous letter writer, Phyllis thinks it all adds up. But the letter was written by Bruce's secretary who had fallen in love with him. |

But the little girl saw through Lillian's attempts to get married to Ross and told her he was engaged to someone in another town. |
