They dated but always went out to remote places. Marge was furious when she learned that Alan asked Sally to the dance because his parents expected him to date someone in her class. They married, but Alan continued to hide the truth from his parents. When Marge became pregnant they discovered the truth and disowned their son. Dropping out of school Marge realized her baby would soon be born unwanted by the father. |

When Janet became impatient and was discovered by Tom's landlady word spread and Tom was fired. Janet pleaded with the Dean, insisting it was all her fault. Disgraced, Janet prepared to leave town but Tom arrived at the train station telling her that after graduation they would marry. |
