Synopsis | Chuck romances and discards women frequently. He boasts that he’ll never marry anyone who doesn’t have “looks, brains,” and money. He agrees date Fern, the cousin of his roommate’s girlfriend, because she’s from a small town and doesn’t know anyone in the big city. Chuck falls for Fern then discovers she’s an actress hired to teach him a lesson about respecting women. He’s upset, but Fern apologizes and confesses that she really loves him, too. |

Cindy is warned she must leave the ball no later than midnight to return the clothes she’s borrowed before the owners get home. Cindy meets film executive Clark at the ball but gives him a false name and runs away at midnight. He tracks her down and proposes marriage: she accepts. |
