Madge meets working class boy Jack, and they fall in love. Jack suggests they elope but the police intervene and prevent the ceremony. Madge learns Jack was a fortune-hunter anyway. Psychiatrist Dr. Tangren helps Madge understand that she was starved for affection due to parental neglect. Perhaps she’ll find true love in the future. |

Peg sneaks out to a nightclub with Bruce; he’s driving her home when he hits a pedestrian and doesn’t stop. Peg later learns it was her father who was hit, and “if the rat who hit him had stopped and taken him to a hospital he would’ve had a chance!” Peg confesses all; Bruce is arrested and Peg is consoled by Dave. |
