Freida also works for Bruno in his casino, but quits when Bruno makes a pass at her. Linwood recovers and he and Freida return to Ohio, where he is an assistant pastor. Bruno follows and tries to blackmail Freida into returning with him, but Linwood punches him and Bruno leaves: “She was worth a gamble—but I lost!” |

When Kay’s brother Les withdraws from the race because his fiancee opposes it, Kay decides to break up the couple. Jerry calls off his marriage to Kay as a result. To please his father, Les agrees to sail with Kay even though he hates the sea. Jerry and Betty pair up to enter the race. Kay tricks Betty into sailing in a storm, then she and Jerry have to rescue her, with assistance from Les, who conquers his fear. Les reconciles with Betty and Jerry and Kay get back together. |

I want to be rich and important!” Rex warns her that Niles is a fortune hunter and tricks him into revealing it by claiming to be engaged to Niles’ friend Gloria. Lacie breaks up with Niles, who goes back to Gloria. Lacie and Rex reconcile. |

Jonny says “Your job’s wiped out our love!” Rick dumps his girlfriend Cynthia for Fay. When Fay’s parents come to see her perform, she’s embarrassed to have them meet Rick. Fay loses her voice due to the stress and is fired. She goes home and sells her gowns to buy presents for her parents. Rick shows up and is reunited with Fay. Her voice returns, she goes back to work, and marries Rick. |
