Not exactly. "Nyctalope" means "someone (a person or an animal) with night vision". There's a pulp character (a proto-superhero) named "Le Nyctalope" from Jean De La Hire which got revived in recent comics - The Chimera Brigade and L’œil de la nuit. I heartfully recommend these readings for radium-era superhero and superscience lovers.
