Synopsis | Anne grows up in poverty. As a young woman, she gets a job in an ad agency and begins to live a better life. Anne meets Peter on a vacation cruise and they fall in love. He proposes marriage, but she learns he intends to give up his high-society medical practice and open a clinic in the same slums she's just escaped. Peter decides to change his plans for Anne's sake, but can't renounce his principles and breaks up with her. Anne realises she loves Peter enough to go anywhere with him, and they are reunited. |
