Fox Syndicate Sunday Strips 1940-02-25 - Kansas City Journal (2 of 2)
Fascinating post. Hard to believe it, but this section came out months before Eisner's first Spirit Section in June 2 1940. And the ones in the Fox section featured reprints by Eisner and Klaus Nordling, who later would draw The Spirit and Lady Luck respectively in the Spirit Sections. I'd be willing to bet that this comic book insert directly inspired Eisner's own Spirit Section!

...This appears to be missing pages 3-6 of the 8-page section. Were these stories all reprinted/intended for comic books but printed here also? The Blue Beetle story appears to be a condensed story ~ with (including the splash, identical on both) only 3&1/2 pages of story...the newsboy character showed at the end does not appear before then!
Now,, rechecking after having opened another window on the site, the February 18 section only shows 1-2 and 7-8 as well!!!:-(
