now that we have a scan, looking at the indicia it looks like this book should be dated 1947 as it says the contents are Copyright 1945, 1946 and 1947 so it could not have been printed any earlier than probably mid-1947
also,the Publisher is Leader enterprises, not pentagon

This material was obviously taken from a newspaper strip so I checked and apparently the strip only ran to
July 1946 owing to Russel keaton's early death at the age of 35. Also apparently there were only two comic collections so the site has the full run.
