I wonder if "Scoop Scully," a story about a reporter told in rhyme, is an homage to Basil Wolverton's earlier "Scoop Scuttle," a reporter who talked in rhyme? (And who appeared in Horse Feathers #1) This whole comic is rather weird, lots of very short features which are more "magazine"-like than comic book-style.

Wonder what they were thinking when they put this thing out. At least the first issue attempted to do stories. "Sawdust Follies" gives up entirely...it's more a script than anything else. I vowed I'd read the whole thing so I did. But it was downright painful. The jokes are so BAD! (And why did the women in so many cartoons wear 19th century clothing? Is it because that's when the jokes were written?)
