V-Man's super-striped costume certainly made life hell for the colorist, especially given Fox's crummy color registration. The art by Mark Howell (whoever he is) on the Black Terror clone gives new meaning to the word "grotesque" |

Well, Roland Patenaude's Art is certainly above average. His page layouts and 'camera angles' show a lot of creativity. Pity the publisher's reproduction is so lousy. What stands out for me is his facial expressions. Most characters have open mouths and the villains universally have grotesque chins and brows. [I'm trying to avoid using the word 'apelike' but not succeeding.]
On the cover V-man has a cheerful grin on his face as he smashes the Villain in the face. The Girl in distress in the red dress wears a maniacal expression that I can't quite decipher.
Paternade certainly gives you something to look at.
Cheers! |

Wonder Woman lookalike Nagana, Queen of Evil, only appeared in three stories - and deserves so much more - surely time for a revival?
I wonder if she inspired The Scorpion King movie? There are certain similarities. |

@The Australian Panther - Larry Antonette also tended to draw heroes with their mouths open over at Fox, though with smaller smiles and a more well-roundly smooth style in general. |
