Picked this one from Random 12 (drop down menu from Insite) – always worth a visit. Imperilled blonde on the front cover? You know I can’t resist.
Terrific pencils throughout by Matt Baker? In Devil Ladies, Betty Page lookalike, Rulah, is all that stands between a gang of fetish-clad female foreign finks and world domination – can she stop them in their tracks?
In The Stalking Death, Rulah finds herself in a topsy-turvy world as animals hunt men for sport. This one has a real twist in the tale that I didn’t see coming. Also, I note that Rulah’s delightful young friend, Jana, doesn’t appear to have a boyfriend – I wonder if she’s free tonight…..
Plazma Peril has an Ava Gardner-like witch who certainly cast her spell on me. This story pushes through the boundaries of triple-state reality into a plasma-fuelled tale of mayhem that borders on bonkers. I absolutely loved it – but was sorry to see so many feisty maidens swallowed by marshmallows – read it and see
I loved this action-packed totally surreal book – haven’t had so much fun in ages – I can’t understand why Rulah has been neglected as a character for so long – surely it’s time for a revival?

I understand that after defeating the monsters Rulah and her friends celebrated by making some toasted marshmallows.

The Kraal tribe that Rulah protects seems very strange. All the men are black and all the women are white.

Not only that but they all look like Betty Page - is it possible some mad scientist was experimenting with gene splicing deep in the dark woods?
