Geo. E Brenner's Clock is trying rather too hard to be The Spirit, in yet ANOTHER plot poached from Cornell Woolrich's "Kiss of the Cobra." (The last one I came across was the Chic Carter story "Veda the Cobra Woman" in Police Comics #6.)
